Business uncertainty created by the Covid-19 pandemic is on the scale of the two world wars. Well over two years from the discovery of the virus, it still has a profound impact on companies. The ways in which businesses have managed their workforces have changed due to the pandemic-led uncertainty and it may permanently change how they will be managed in future. Although many things will return to how they were before the pandemic, some things will have changed forever, once it is over. This post-pandemic business environment can be described as the “next normal”. A survey conducted by the British Chambers of Commerce has led to several conclusions on the new working situation.
